iR has partnered with a Seed Startup company here in Austin, Texas!


Our client is looking for a talented Growth & Lifecycle Marketing Lead to join their team!


As our client’s Marketing Lead your primary goal will be to enrich, cultivate, and grow the member community through email campaigns and content creation. This role involves developing new marketing and drip email campaigns, using platforms like Mailchimp and Vero. You’ll leverage social media and affiliate/referral programs to grow the user base and scale content production with front-end SEO tactics.


The Role in One Line: Own growth, community and retention marketing strategies and work closely with the SEO Manager to execute on related campaigns.


You’ll ensure quality across all web content, from blogs to product descriptions, while collaborating with product, partnerships, and data entry teams.


To thrive in this role, you should possess a unique blend of community building experience, writing skills, SEO knowledge, and an understanding of email marketing management.


What you get to go do in this role:

  • Be in charge of all website content: SEO, brand, and UX copy. Write and assign travel articles for blogs and destination pages, collaborate on brand copywriting updates, and improve UX copy. A good understanding of geography is essential.
  • Manage email marketing, including newsletters and triggered campaigns, while meeting aggressive retention goals.
  • Increase the backlink portfolio through strategic outreach efforts and marketing campaigns.
  • Manage and grow the affiliate marketing program to increase revenue and new members.
  • Cultivate a community of “true fan” users, uncovering creative ways to encourage UGC on the site and social media.
  • Keep ahead of travel trends and create attention-grabbing content, positioning our client as the “place to go” for the most up-to-date, useful, and interesting travel content.
  • Ensure data quality across the site by coordinating with data operations specialists and partnerships teams.
  • Track campaign and site content performance through Google Analytics and SEO platforms like AHREFs.
  • Assist with various marketing campaigns and other projects.
  • Create media assets for emails and social media posts using Canva.


What you need to be successful:

  • Have 3 - 5 years of content marketing experience.
  • Have experience managing email campaigns.
  • Have deep knowledge and love of SEO and keyword research or are eager to learn.
  • Feel passionately that ‘success is in the details’ as much as in the ‘big picture.’
  • Love managing multiple projects simultaneously, using the 80/20 rule as your mantra.
  • Enthusiastically and proactively help beyond the bounds of your day-to-day role.


In a perfect world, you would…

  • Have experience in consumer marketplaces, e-commerce, or other transaction-oriented consumer web apps.
  • Have technical SEO knowledge.
  • Have experience loading content into an e-commerce platform.
  • Have experience working remotely with a global team.
  • Have previously thrived in an early startup environment (from Bootstrap to Series B).
  • Have experience managing a team of remote workers, including freelancers and interns.

Salary : $70,000 - $90,000
