Design Engineer
This role requires experience with plastics blow mold bottle designs (bottles, containers, etc.)
This position will have flexibility to work in one of our locations in Charlotte, North Carolina, Greater Cincinnati area, or South Florida (if bilingual)
Essential Responsibilities :
Create designs for rigid consumer packaging, including but not limited to plastic bottles, closures, test apparatuses, and mechanical components, in a fast-paced setting using 3D CAD software.
Offer a creative, yet consistent and technically feasible, design that supports the customer’s brand.
Understand the technical aspects of plastic materials and their fit-for-use in applications.
Develop 2D drawings, standards, and templates
Assist with creating mold specifications for specific products.
Design ancillary tooling components for use in prototype and production environments.
Develop and manage on-site 3D printing capabilities.
Develop FEA testing capabilities.
Assist with developing long-term design strategies staying ahead of the curve on technologies and how they can be applied to meet our customers’ needs.
Work cross functionally with operations management and the business development team.
Qualifications Required :
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, or equivalent job experience.
5 years of experience designing and manufacturing blow molds
Industrial design experience in creating photo-realistic renderings of products applicable to the market segment.
Experience working in engineering and manufacturing environments
Experience working both independently and, in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including formal presentations and technical papers.
Methodical approach and able to work multiple projects or tasks concurrently.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
