Quality & Compliance Manager – Manufacturing
Overview
We’re looking for a Quality & Compliance Manager to lead quality systems and drive continuous improvement at a high-volume manufacturing facility. This is a hands-on leadership role responsible for quality compliance, internal auditing, and ensuring customer satisfaction through proactive systems management and team development.
Day to Day
- Oversee all quality and compliance operations to ensure production meets internal standards and external customer expectations.
- Maintain and continually improve the site’s quality management system in alignment with ISO, regulatory, and customer-specific requirements.
- Lead and prepare the facility for internal and third-party audits (e.g., ISO 9001, FSSC 22000, HACCP, etc.).
- Monitor and report on key quality metrics and system performance at both the site and regional level.
- Manage compliance documentation, including Certificates of Analysis, regulatory statements, and specification verifications.
- Ensure all testing equipment is properly maintained and calibrated; coordinate internal and external calibration schedules.
- Lead product qualification efforts for new tools, products, and equipment.
- Maintain up-to-date and standardized documentation, utilizing document control systems.
- Manage quality-related communication and relationships with customers, including complaint resolution and regulatory inquiries.
- Facilitate root cause analysis (RCA) and corrective action implementation across departments.
- Direct and develop the quality control team, ensuring accurate testing, data integrity, and regulatory adherence.
- Lead training programs and ensure proper onboarding and qualification of staff performing quality-related tasks.
- Conduct performance reviews, disciplinary processes, and team development planning.
- Collaborate closely with production, engineering, and logistics to resolve issues and maintain process integrity.
What You Bring
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in a technical/STEM field or equivalent hands-on experience
- Minimum 5 years of experience in quality assurance, including at least 2 years in a leadership or managerial capacity
- Familiarity with a wide range of testing tools and equipment, including CMMs, digital gauges, calipers, and compression force testers
Skills & Competencies
- Proficient in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and SPC/statistical software
- Strong understanding of quality standards, compliance protocols, and risk assessment techniques
- Excellent organizational and multitasking skills
- Confident leading cross-functional teams and driving continuous improvement initiatives
- Customer-facing communication experience, particularly in quality/regulatory discussions
Work Environment & Physical Requirements
- Frequent walking, standing, bending, and use of hands
- Occasional sitting, lifting, or moving up to 50 lbs
- Visual requirements include close-range focus for inspection work
- Must adhere to all site safety protocols and maintain a safe, compliant work environment
