iR is partnered with a client who is seeking a highly skilled Power BI & Data Engineering Specialist to lead the transition to a modern data platform, drive innovation, and enhance data visualization capabilities across our organization.
This role requires deep expertise in Power BI, data engineering, and business intelligence, along with the ability to translate complex business needs into efficient, impactful visual solutions.

Data Strategy & Collaboration
- Lead the development of a modern data platform to support enterprise-wide analytics.
- Partner with subject matter experts to define business requirements and reporting needs, even in ambiguous scenarios.
- Align technology initiatives with business strategies by building strong relationships with stakeholders.
- Provide technical guidance on Power BI architecture, security, and best practices to ensure effective reporting and analysis.
Data Visualization & Administration
- Design, develop, and maintain Power BI data models and visualizations to drive business insights.
- Implement advanced techniques using Power BI Premium, XMLA Endpoints, and Tabular Editor 3 to elevate analytics capabilities.
- Develop and optimize complex DAX, Power Query (M language), and T-SQL queries.
- Stay up to date with emerging trends, tools, and best practices in data visualization and business intelligence.
- Ensure adherence to security, usability, and architectural standards in Power BI solutions.
Data Engineering & Integration
- Work with diverse data sources such as SQL Server, Azure Data Lake, DataVerse, Excel, Azure SQL, SharePoint, and API-based data.
- Oversee and support data warehouse development, including ETL process design and implementation.
- Implement data security best practices, including user mapping and app deployment within Power BI.
- Continuously learn and apply new technologies to optimize data processes and improve business intelligence frameworks.
What you need to be successful:
- 8 years of relevant experience in Power BI development, data engineering, and business intelligence.
- In-depth understanding of Power BI architecture, CI/CD pipelines, data modeling, security, and deployment best practices.
- Strong expertise in Azure services, including Azure Data Lake and cloud-based data solutions.
- Experience working with D365 Finance and Operations data and manufacturing datasets.
- Proficiency in implementing API-based data integrations.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work in fast-paced, evolving environments.
