The organization is seeking a Tax Analyst with a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and relevant internships in accounting or tax to join the Tax Accounting Department, focusing on data analytics. This role requires advanced Excel skills, and experience with SQL is a plus. The position involves extensive data collection and analysis related to tax compliance.
The ideal candidate should be a self-starter with a strong aptitude for data analytics. While prior tax experience is not required, a willingness to learn and adapt quickly is essential. Hands-on training will be provided.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting (must have completed internships in accounting or tax).
- Advanced Excel skills required; SQL experience is a plus.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Detail-oriented with solid organizational skills, particularly in meeting deadlines.
- Ability or desire to learn how to interpret and apply tax laws, conduct research, and track tax exemption rules.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe applications.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong business acumen and professional presence.
Essential Job Functions:
- Maintain and obtain sales tax exemption certificates, ensuring compliance.
- Work with outside sales tax specialists on rulings, compliance, and related issues.
- Develop systems to track changing tax exemption rules and sales tax holidays.
- Manage use, product, and buyer tax exemptions and provide exemption certificates to vendors.
- Research sales tax sourcing rules and stay updated on exemption regulations.
- Monitor legislation and track tax law changes through state department websites.
Special Projects & Additional Responsibilities:
- Engage in special projects as assigned, taking initiative in process improvement.
- Identify problems, propose solutions, and contribute to a continuous improvement mindset.
- Ensure accurate and timely completion of tax filings and related documentation.
