We are experts in planning and implementation of large-scale public infrastructure and are dedicated to environmental conservation and sustainable land management.Job Summary : InterAgency is seeking an entry-level environmental scientist to join our growing environmental practice. We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented professional to work alongside senior environmental staff to support study efforts and collaborate on major resiliency and infrastructure projects in the DC metropolitan area. Projects will range from preliminary planning to construction and include the following : Subsurface infrastructure to mitigate flooding impactsLarge diameter tunnels to remediate combined sewer overflows (CSOs)Redesign of existing sea walls to address sea level riseBridge construction over navigable waterwaysStream restorationKey Responsibilities : Prepare GIS exhibits and maintain accurate and detailed records.Assist and research federal, state, and local permitting guidelines.Research forthcoming environmental project opportunities.Assist with environmental field investigations (i.e., tree surveys, wetland delineations, endangered species surveys).Assist with preparation of NEPA documents.Collaborate with project team leader to ensure data accuracy and completeness.Follow safety protocols and guidelines during fieldwork.Assist with GPS and other mapping tools.Qualifications : Bachelor’s degree in environmental science or related field.Experience with GIS software.Familiarity with the Clean Water Act and related regulations preferred.Excellent communication skills and ability to work as part of a team.Strong attention to detail and organizational skills to manage multiple projects under strict deadlines.Experience in fieldwork or data collection through internships or professional experience preferred.Employment Conditions : Type : Full-time, exempt employmentSchedule : Hybrid remote, with estimated 2-3 days in-office.Company Business Hours : 8 : 00 am to 5 : 00 PM (EST).Flexible work location between 3 offices in the DC Metro Area : Bethesda, MD, DC, and Tyson’s Corner, VA.Provide relevant applicable coursework with resume for consideration.Must be able to reliably commute to client locations within the DC Metro area.Able to walk long distances and carry equipment.
