ABOUT THE ROLE
As a Fleet Maintenance and Compliance Manager, you will be responsible for the comprehensive management and maintenance of our fleet vehicles, ensuring driver and switcher hours of service compliance, overseeing the maintenance of our fleet, and managing the costs associated with the drayage trucking portion of the business. As an expert in fleet operations, your role will be crucial in providing support through various activities, including managing parts inventory, reporting, developing strategic business operational efficiencies, and supporting staff. You will be a key player in ensuring the fleet operates smoothly, safely, and cost-effectively.
HOW YOU WILL MAKE A DIFFERENCE
- Oversee the maintenance of trucks, chassis, forklifts, and other modes of transportation to ensure safety and reliability.
- Assist in recruiting high-quality and DOT compliant drivers and mechanics to maintain an efficient and effective fleet workforce.
- Utilizing GPS and ELD systems to monitor equipment locations and driver hours of service compliance, to ensure asset protection and logistical efficiency.
- Ensure all vehicles are properly registered and licensed in compliance with State and Federal regulations.
- Identify and implement efficiencies within the fleet operations to reduce costs and improve performance.
- Develop and implement strategies to enhance fuel efficiency across the fleet.
- Maintain detailed records of vehicle servicing, inspections, and repairs to ensure compliance and operational transparency.
- Comply with U.S. Department of Transport (DOT) laws and regulations.
- Schedule regular vehicle maintenance to prevent breakdowns and minimize operational disruptions.
- Implement strict servicing and maintenance schedules to minimize downtime and keep operations on track.
- Analyze fleet performance data to identify areas for improvement.
