InterCare is searching for a full- time WIC Technician and Breastfeeding Peer Counselor to join our team at our Grand Haven location! Work Schedule:
- Monday - 9:00 am - 3:00pm
- Tuesday - 8:30am - 5:00pm
- Wednesday - 8:30am - 5:00 pm
- Thursday - 9:00am - 2:00pm
- Friday - 9:00am - 2:00pm
Minimum requirements
- Basic level of reading, writing and mathematical skills typically acquired through competition of a high school diploma
- Some front desk experience in a medical office
- Experience breastfeeding at least one baby a minimum of six months
- Bilingual in English/Spanish preferred but not required
Requirements
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Responsible for a variety of clerical duties for the day to day operation and implementation of the WIC Program
- Responsible for anthropometric and laboratory procedures as specified by WIC policies
- Responsible for counseling WIC pregnant and breastfeeding clients both in prenatal and postnatal stages, providing anticipatory guidance and support
- Responsible for clinic breast pump insurance and inventory
- Assists in making referrals to nutrition, breastfeeding, health, public assistance, and community services as needed in a client centered environment

Job duties are performed in a typical office environment with the required ability to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, frequently sit, and lift up to 25 lbs. This position requires good hand-eye coordinator, reach with arms and hands, and finger dexterity, including ability to grasp and manipulate when using keyboard and various office equipment. Visual acuity to use computer and keyboard, operate office equipment, and read printed material as well as the need to talk and hear.
Salary : $18 - $22
