We are looking for a customer focused, energetic individual to join our Customer Service team, as a Customer Service Representative. This position is full-time and will provide information to the general public regarding Intercity Transit’s services and partnering transit agencies.As a Customer Service Representative, you will:
- Respond to public and staff inquiries via phone, writing, or in person concerning trip planning, schedule information, lost and found, and other transit services.
- Respond to Greyhound & FLIX Customer Service inquiries.
- Receive customer concerns and complaints; record and forward to appropriate staff as needed.
- High School Diploma or GED; course work or training in customer or public relations or retail sales.
- One (1) year experience performing customer service duties with diverse customers.
- Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
- Must possess and maintain a valid Washington State Driver's License; must maintain an acceptable driving record throughout employment.
- Must be willing to submit to a post-job-offer drug screen, as well as a criminal background investigation, the results of which must meet the agency’s hiring criteria. Ability to deal tactfully, patiently, and effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds, frequently under stressful circumstances.
- Ability to listen effectively, assimilate information, discern needs and to relate in a clear, friendly, and informative manner.
- Knowledge of Thurston County area and ability to learn, comprehend and communicate CAD/AVL maps and routing directions.
- Competent computer, data entry, writing, and reporting skills. Ability to demonstrate basic knowledge in Microsoft Office, Adobe and other Intercity Transit systems.
- Able and willing to workdays, evenings, weekends, holidays, and occasional overtime.
- Receive a competitive salary of $23.66- $30.27 an hour in addition to annual general wage/cost of living adjustments typically received in January and step increases (if not at top of salary range).

- PERS Retirement Plans (through Washington State Public Employee’s Retirement System) along with voluntary deferred compensation plans (401k and 457) with employer match up to 6.2%.
- Up to 54 hours of floating holiday time.

- 12 days of sick leave per year depending upon date of eligibility.
