Role Summary:
The Portfolio Manager has the primary responsibilities of ensuring the effective application of Agile practices and management of the Architecture & Innovation (A&I) portfolio. This leader will facilitate the learning and growth of A&I’s teams in developing a Lean-Agile mindset, improving practices, and guiding them to more predictable delivery. This leader plays a role in facilitating Agile ceremonies, planning of releases, removing impediments, providing guidance, and supporting the teams, as well as modeling and promoting Agile values and principles. The successful candidate will be experienced maturing portfolio management processes including, demand and resource management, with integrations into the IT partner teams’ PI planning sessions.
Your Day to Day:
- Partners with portfolio managers and product owners to refine deliverable expectations for A&I.
- Serves as a servant leader, enabling self-organizing teams to implement Lean-Agile practices effectively.
- Facilitates all Scrum ceremonies, ensuring the team understands their purpose and remains value-focused.
- Acts as a change agent, driving continuous improvement in quality, predictability, and flow.
- Collaborates with stakeholders on technical best practices and backlog refinement, while utilizing approved delivery tools for standardization.
What We Need From You:
- 5 years of experience in relevant disciplines, with at least 3 years as a Portfolio Manager and 1 year as a Scrum Master.
- Proven experience facilitating interactions with distributed agile teams.
- Preferred formal coaching experience.
- Proficient in Scrum, XP, Kanban, and/or SAFe, with a strong understanding of Agile values and principles.
- Skilled in guiding teams to achieve sprint and release goals, and resolving conflicts in team discussions.
- Proficient with CA Agile Central (Rally) or similar tools, with strong communication skills to foster stakeholder relationships.
