RESTAURANT SUPERVISOR: The Food & Beverage Supervisor will support the Food and Beverage Management team by supervising the daily Outlets (Restaurant, Room Service, Bar) and assist Banquet operations, as needed. Mentor, develop and train associates to ensure maximum guest and associate satisfaction. 

SCHEDULE: Must be able to work flexible schedule, weekends and holidays, based on business demands.

WORKING RELATIONSHIPS: Reports: Director of Food & Beverage and F&B Management Team. Interacts: Internal and External Guests

SALARY RANGE: $25.00 to $29.00 hourly

WORKING ENVIRONMENT: The hotel is in a public business atmosphere, which varies temperature based indoor and outdoor climate The nature of this job is primarily indoors but will require some outdoor activity based on business. Depending on temperature of day, the climate can vary from hot, cold, etc. In addition, the kitchen area is often hot, and damp.

Some travel may be required either locally or out of state in order to attend hotel events not limited to meetings, trainings etc.

EDUCATION: Minimum of High School Diploma or equivalent. College Degree/Certificate in Hospitality or related field preferred.

WORK EXPERIENCE: 2 years in a Food Beverage Leadership role or 1 year in hotel Supervisory role, Food & Beverage experience is required or equivalent work experience. 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES:

Knowledge

  • Understand hotel function, know guest profiles, and know business demand in the area and local hotel competitors.
  • Understand standard accounting principles such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, percentages etc. to assist with inventory, time tracking, and budget.
  • Possess extensive food & beverage knowledge, presentation, and dining etiquette.
  • Possess comprehensive computer knowledge drafting emails, contracts, guest thank you notes, use of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and Power Point) and Adobe.

Skills

  • Strong business communication both verbal and written in English.
  • Strong interpersonal skills such as listening, smiling, relating, asking questions, leadership, motivation, etc.
  • Have the skill to manage multiple projects and tasks at a time, maintain focus and structure, and know how to prioritize.
  • Have the skill to resolve conflicts with ease and professionalism to ensure maximum guest and associate satisfaction.

Abilities

  • Ability to develop and maintain relationships with both associates and guests to build trust and loyalty.
  • Ability to maintain consistent positive energy, self-motivation, and passion for hospitality.
  • Ability to keep hotel sensitive information confidential such as guest credit card information, hotel financials, etc.
  • Ability to learn new software and computer systems.
  • Ability to learn to perform all hourly functions to cover employee absences and or emergencies.
  • Ability to easily adapt to various situations, constant change, handle pressure and remain composed and focused. 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Combination of sitting, prolonged standing and moving for 8 hours. Ability to walk around the hotel, carry trays, go up and down stairs, stoop, kneel, lift a minimum of 50 lbs. and push and pull approximately 100 lbs.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS: Meet California state minimum age to sell and serve alcohol. 

BUSINESS ATTIRE: To present a professional and business image to guests, associates and public we ask that all associates follow PHM’s dress and grooming standards available in the PHM Handbook on page 16.  Standards include wearing full suit at all times, suit must be neat, clean and wrinkle free, practice good personal hygiene, and grooming.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Micro, Delphi and or other Food & Beverage Software Systems
  • Prior Emotional Intelligence Training
  • Sommelier Certificate
  • Serve Safe Certificate
  • TIPS Certificate

The Food and Beverage Supervisor is an integral part of our management team at the property and works side by side with associates on a day-to-day basis to anticipate and meet guest’s needs. We are looking for someone who will help us develop new ideas and ways to improve revenue, associate, and guest satisfaction scores.
