Job Overview
The Process Engineer II is responsible for developing, planning, and executing industrial-scale formulations and filling trials to transition new cosmetic products from conception to manufacturing. This involves all facets of New Product Introduction: Experimental Design, Execution, Physical Testing, and Quantitative Analysis & Interpretation.
Main Responsibilities
- Study, understand, and execute industrial-scale formulations, pilot, filling, and assembly trials of new cosmetic products for a smooth transition to manufacturing/production scale.
- Design and implement manufacturing solutions, including experimental design, execution, physical testing, and quantitative analysis & interpretation.
- Investigate out-of-specification manufacturing non-conformances, create effective corrective and preventive action plans to resolve, and ensure compliance with company-set standards for manufacturing/lab safety and general maintenance.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including R&D Formulation Chemists, Technical & Operational Manufacturing, Packaging, and Marketing/Product Development.
Requirements
- B.S. in Chemistry, Chemical/Industrial Engineering, or related degree.
- Strong understanding of chemical processing concepts, including heat transfer, mass flow, and instrumental & statistical analysis, applied to personal care products.
- Minimum four (4) years in a science-related industry, preferably cosmetic & personal care in a cGMP manufacturing environment.
- Exceptional communication skills, proficiency in MS Office applications, and ability to effectively convey complicated data and timelines.
