SUMMARY
Work is performed under the immediate supervision of the IT Manager. The employee is expected to perform assignments as set forth in departmental work order system, or as the result of verbal instructions, with reasonable independence. Any unusual departures or exceptions are to be reported to the Appropriate Supervisor. This is specialized, technical work responsible for the efficient and accurate completion of scheduled Information Services operations, using various devices attached to the AS/400, microcomputer networks and phone switch.
Compliance with the OFAC Regulations is the responsibility of ALL employees of the Bank. This position is expected to be familiar with and have knowledge of the requirements of OFAC Regulations.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Essential functions may include, but are not limited to:
Run nightly PCOMB process
Load all files
Complete run sheets/procedures
Save and restore libraries and objects
Determine the success of a backup
Display and understand details about device and controller descriptions
Monitor system activity by checking messages, batch jobs, devices, and printer output
Add and configure new devices
Change the attributes of a printer, writer and controller
Print the device addresses for local workstation controllers
Display the job log for an active job, an interactive job, an ended job, and a job on the queue
Display the contents of the history log
Submit and display a job
Start and stop a specific subsystem
Understand the concept of the queue (priority, FIFO, etc.)
Understand how a job description affects a job and define types of jobs
Use the history log and job log to diagnose problems
Use system operator messages to diagnose and manage problems
Display a list of currently installed PTFs and install individual PTFs
Use a command to stop or re-IPL the AS/400 system
Start the AS/400 system by doing an attended IPL
Determine why a user's output is going to a particular printer/OUTQ
Set a user's print control output at a specific printer
Coordinate issues and tasks with consultants, programmers and core vendor
Complete other tasks as required by the IT Manager
Operate a Pitney Bowes machine, email, Federal Express, UPS, letter and envelope folding machine
Provide exceptional customer service to all customers: employees and vendors
Distribute all mail to each department that is received on a daily basis including branches via courier service.
ACCEPTABLE EXEPERIENCE AND TRAINING
Technical
*Have 2 to 4 years of computer operator skills.
*Launch and monitor batch jobs and administer job queue on AS400 computer systems
*Perform tape backups and preparing tape labels in accordance with standardized system requirements.
*Print reports and special forms and administer print queues
*Inform IT Manager abnormalities
*Interact professionally with all computer system users, to include company management
*Skills to document shift activities and provide oral and written turnover to next shift
Non-Technical
*Be self-disciplined, prompt and reliable
*Have excellent communication, interpersonal, verbal, and written skills
*Be able to learn and retain instructions in computer operations, on AS400 and other platforms as required for position
*Work well independently, and in a team environment
*Be able to multi-task.
*Excellent problem solving and troubleshooting skills required.
*Ability to triage effectively under pressure and often independently
*Work a flexible schedule to include nights, weekends and last minute changes
PHYSICAL ABILITIES
1. Exert high physical effort.

3. See and read a computer screen and printed matter with or without vision aids.
4. Hear and understand speech at normal levels and on the telephone.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Employees in this position will frequently work evenings and weekends to meet network installation deadlines and to provide network service as needed.
