What are the responsibilities and job description for the Employee Relations Specialist position at InterDent?
Company Overview
InterDent is a leading provider of business support services to dental practices in the western United States. With a presence in El Segundo, CA and Vancouver, WA, we serve nearly 200 practices across eight states.
This role is a key member of our HR team and will work closely with Regional Vice Presidents and Directors of Operations to implement performance improvement strategies.
Core Responsibilities:
- Support the overall administration, coordination, and evaluation of the HR function for all dental offices in California and Hawaii.
- Foster positive relationships with employees, managers, directors, and executives throughout the region.
- Implement performance improvement strategies in collaboration with Regional Vice Presidents and Directors of Operations.
- Work with Operations leaders to address regional development needs.
- Provide guidance on performance management, behavioral issues, policy interpretations, and terminations to minimize legal exposure.
- Moderate and mediate interventions to resolve conflict.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Proven experience with employee relations.
- Excellent customer service skills and ability to manage difficult and stressful situations.
- Strong communication skills (written, verbal, persuasion, motivation, facilitation of strong working relationships).
- Proven critical thinking and good judgment.
- Desire to grow and develop in the HR field.
- Ability to manage business expectations and resolve concerns by communicating status and issues.
- Ability to effectively prioritize and escalate issues as necessary.
- Solid and advanced systems capability (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, HRIS).
