Mental Health Counseling Intern
Position Overview: We are seeking a motivated and compassionate Mental Health Clinician
Intern to join our team. This internship is designed for graduate students pursuing licensure as a
Licensed Graduate Professional Counselor (LGPC) or Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW).
The intern will gain hands-on experience in clinical settings, working closely with licensed
clinicians to develop skills in assessment, treatment planning, and client care.
Key Responsibilities:
● Assist in conducting comprehensive assessments of clients' mental health needs.
● Collaborate with licensed clinicians to develop and implement treatment plans.
● Provide direct support to clients through individual and group therapy sessions.
● Maintain accurate and timely documentation of client interactions in accordance with
agency policies.
● Participate in supervision meetings and training sessions to enhance clinical skills.
● Engage in case management activities, including resource identification and referrals.
● Attend team meetings and contribute to program development and improvement.
Qualifications:
● Enrollment in a Master’s program in Social Work, Counseling, or a related field.
● Strong desire to work in mental health and a commitment to providing quality care.
● Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
● Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
● Familiarity with clinical documentation standards and confidentiality protocols.
● Previous experience in mental health settings is a plus, but not required.
