Position Description
In an exciting time of evolution and potential, Interfaith Action of Greater Saint Paul (IFA) seeks a creative and collaborative Communications Coordinator to help lead the organizations online presence, content creation, and overall engagement with a variety of audiences. As a member of the Development and Communications team, the Communications Coordinator will support the organizations work building community awareness, stewarding donors and volunteers, assisting with programmatic outreach, and other initiatives that build IFAs constituency.
This position reports to the Director of Development and Communications and works closely with other IFA staff.
Responsibilities
Communications

Digital Engagement
- Website: Manage content, including monitoring for accuracy, updating information as needed, and highlighting organizational news stories
- Social media: Advise the Director on strategy to increase engagement; create posts; monitor and respond to comments, messages, and engagement with other accounts
- Email campaigns: Compile and organize content for monthly e-newsletter, manage email audiences, and assist with other mass email communications
- Branding & visual content creation
- Graphic design & writing: Support all IFA department/programs in the creation of materials such as flyers, mailings, websites; help to foster consistency with IFA brand standards, voice, and visual identity
- Photo & video: Take photos of events and other opportunities of note; assist with the conceptualization and creation of video content
- Public and media relations: Support the creation and distribution of press releases, seek potential news/media opportunities, feature content of interest as website news stories
Development & Communications Team Support
- Assist as needed in the planning and execution of fundraising events, especially as relates to event promotion and visual collateral
- Work with the Director of Development and Communications on the implementation of communications-specific elements of annual development plan
- Provide administrative support as needed, especially for public-facing initiatives such as donor acknowledgement letters and audience/database management
- Participate in departmental and organization-wide meetings, trainings, and other internal initiatives
Qualifications and Experience
- Post-secondary degree or equivalent work experience in communications, marketing, writing, and/or sales
- Experience with/understanding of digital engagement tools and strategy including website management (especially WordPress); social media; and mass email platforms
- Proficiency with graphic design tools (Canva and/or Adobe Creative Cloud) and experience following and internally promoting brand standards
- Cultural competency in working and communicating with diverse audiences, across lines of racial, socioeconomic, religious, and other difference
- Creative and analytical thinker with strong problem-solving skills and a documented history of successfully driving projects to completion
- Must demonstrate exceptional verbal and written communication skills
- Must demonstrate commitment to teamwork and the ability to communicate effectively at all levels of the organization
- Proficient at Microsoft 365 (Word, Windows, Excel, Teams, etc.)
- Ability to work and relate to people effectively in a multicultural work environment within a non-profit setting; experience with nonprofit work environments preferred
- Be able to lift 15 lbs.
- Be able to provide reliable transportation to and from events
- Displays exceptional time-management and organizational skills as needed for meeting deadlines
- Works well independently as well as under direct supervision
