Maintenance Supervisor Job Description
InterFaith Shelter Network (IFSN), a homeless service agency in Sonoma County, has been offering services for over 30 years. IFSN provides an array of services to individuals and families in need of housing resources utilizing Housing First and Harm Reduction Models.
IFSN currently operates 14 residential facilities. We are looking for a solutions- oriented, ambitious, responsible, organized and collaborative individual to perform maintenance and repair tasks on a full time, approximately 32 hours per week, basis.
Duties
- Ensure operational safety and efficiency of tools, equipment, office and facilities through timely inspection and repair
- Ensure that company facilities are kept in clean and hygienic condition
- Implement workplace safety policies and standards
- Communicate with supervisor and other necessary staff regarding repairs, safety concerns, budget, etc.
- Identifying and responding to security and safety issues
- Maintaining documentation of inspections and necessary actions
- Cleaning and sanitizing facilities as needed
- Transporting supplies and furniture as needed
- Repair or replace sinks, toilets, faucets, light fixtures, screens, doors, etc.
- Deliver and install large appliances
- Assemble and repair furniture for office and residences
- Ability and willingness to interact in a professional and mindful manner with clients and staff
- Maintain confidentiality and professional boundaries at all times
Skills and Qualifications
- Construction skills such as carpentry, painting, and masonry
- Plumbing knowledge and ability
- Experience with yard work and landscaping tools
- Advanced critical thinking and problem-solving skills for fixing maintenance issues
- Administrative skills for ordering supplies, handling records and scheduling maintenance
- Physical strength and dexterity to lift (up to 50lbs.), move and handle equipment
- Stamina to deal with long hours standing, bending, twisting, walking, etc.
- Strong verbal and written communication for discussing maintenance issues
- Ability to work in extreme hot, cold, and/or wet conditions
- Organizational and time management skills required to complete tasks in a safe, efficient and timely manner
Requirements

Benefits
Job type: full time, Monday through Thursday 10:00-5:00, Friday 10:00-2:00
Rate of pay: $23-25 per hour, DOE
Benefits package includes: Medical, dental, life insurance (fully covered by the agency) and sick & vacation time
