Boiler Operator, Port Angeles, Washington

Interfor is seeking energetic and enthusiastic team players to join our team as a Boiler Operator in Port Angeles. Starting rate for this position is $26.22 to 32.34 per hour based on skill level and experience.

What You’ll Do

• Perform rounds of silo, boiler & kiln areas, inspecting operating systems, equipment, machinery, bins & various components of operation; document all activity, conditions, & issues.
  
• Ensure the proper chemical mix is achieved daily.
  
• Operate forklift to change out kilns, load kiln carts when needed & empty bins.
  
• Perform soot blow, bottom blows & low water test procedures.
  
• Perform grate rakes.
  
• Maintain & repair equipment within capabilities.
  
• Monitor & control opacity emissions & document & report excessive emissions as required.
  
• Monitor kiln schedules, & inspect charges prior to loading in the kiln.
  
• Load & unload kiln charges in a safe & timely manner.
  
• Perform hot check when needed following established procedures.
  
• Perform kiln inspections & steam tests; make repairs within capabilities and report issues.
  
• Monitor silo & hog bin levels; feed/hog-watch as required.
  
• Grease kiln carts each shift.
  
• Dump ash bins and follow TSA associated with ash.
• Must be able to work any shifts and holidays as required.
• Other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
