Divisional Accountant
As a Divisional Accountant at Interfor, you will be responsible for applying accounting principles and procedures to analyze financial information, preparing accurate and timely financial reports and statements, preparing forecasts and budgets, and ensuring appropriate accounting control procedures are in place.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare financial analysis, statements, forecasts, and budgets for the division.
- Provide support to the Molalla, OR Mill Manager and Divisional operations team to meet regional financial reporting and analysis requirements.
- Analyze and advise on business operations, including revenue and expenditure trends, financial commitments, and future revenues.
- Prepare weekly reports as required:
- Forecast update
- Spending report
- Perform regular month-end procedures and prepare monthly reports, including:
- Inventory valuation and NRV calculation
- Accounts payable review / accrual
- Production reporting
- Complete monthly account reconciliations.
- Prepare various weekly and monthly internal reports as required, including production and spending reports.
- Prepare various surveys, censuses, and reports for external organizations.
- Ensure that strong internal controls are in place to safeguard the company's assets.
- Interact with internal and external auditors in completing audits.
Requirements:
- Minimum 3 years of experience in an accounting/office environment.
- Previous experience within the manufacturing industry is preferred.
- Undergraduate degree in business or accounting is an asset.
- CPA designation preferred.
- Positive, proactive, and a strong team contributor.
- Detail oriented.
- Effective organization, planning, implementation, and follow-up skills.
- Self-motivated and results-oriented individual who incorporates goal setting and action-planning to achieve success.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team environment.
- Ability to ensure work is accurate and completed under tight deadlines.
- Excellent interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills.
- Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- Willingness to work a flexible schedule and travel as required.
