Interim Healthcare is seeking a compassionate Bereavement Coordinator to join our team! The ideal candidate will provide emotional support and grief counseling to families and individuals who are coping with the loss of a loved one. The Bereavement Coordinator will be responsible for planning, organizing, and delivering bereavement services that meet the unique needs of our patients' families. This role will also involve coordinating support groups, outreach, and providing resources to aid in the grieving process. This is a full-time Monday - Friday 8 AM - 5 PM position.

- Provide one-on-one grief counseling and support to families, caregivers, and others affected by the death of a patient.
- Plan, coordinate, and facilitate grief support groups for individuals and families.
- Offer follow-up services to families during the bereavement process and assess their needs.
- Develop and distribute bereavement resources and materials to families and the community.
- Maintain accurate records of bereavement services provided and ensure compliance with hospice regulations.
- Work collaboratively with the interdisciplinary team, including social workers, chaplains, and medical staff, to ensure holistic care.
- Offer educational workshops and training on grief and bereavement to hospice staff and volunteers.
- Ensure that all services are culturally sensitive and tailored to individual needs.
- Respond promptly and empathetically to inquiries from families seeking bereavement support.
- Certification in Grief Counseling or related certification is preferred (e.g., Certified Grief Counselor).
- Minimum of 2 years of experience working in bereavement, grief counseling, or hospice care.
- Demonstrated knowledge of grief and loss theory, as well as counseling techniques.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to interact with diverse populations.
- Ability to work independently, manage caseloads, and maintain detailed documentation.
- Empathy, patience, and a genuine desire to help others navigate through loss.
- Experience in a hospice or palliative care setting.
- Experience facilitating group therapy or support groups.
- Knowledge of community resources and referrals for bereavement support.
