Your responsibilities will include assisting with volunteer training and supervision, ensuring a seamless and impactful experience for both volunteers and those we serve.

Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday – 8 hours each day.

Responsibilities

What you'll do as a Hospice Volunteer Assistant:

• Support Bereavement Program
• Assist Volunteer Department
• Serve as backup to Volunteer Coordinator for notifying volunteers of deaths/discharges
• Aid Volunteer Coordinator in receiving volunteer referrals, assigning volunteers to patients, and informing hospice IDG team of assignments
• Collaborate with Volunteer Coordinator on program enhancement and growth
• Develop and implement recruitment, training, and retention program for volunteers
• Assign volunteer tasks based on skills and interests to meet program requirements
• Manage volunteer files
• Educate individuals and community groups on hospice volunteer services
  
  

Required Skills

A few must-haves:

• High School or College Graduate
• Minimum of two (2) years' experience in a healthcare setting. Hospice and/or volunteer experience preferred.
