About the Role
As a Private Duty Companion, your responsibilities will include:
- Engaging clients in activities that bring them joy, such as puzzles, games, reading, and hobbies
- Providing personal care and support to enable seniors to live safely at home
- Assisting with daily living tasks, including bathing, dressing, grooming, light housekeeping, meal preparation, shopping, transportation, and companionship
- Helping with mobility, transfers, and range of motion exercises
- Reminding clients of medication, documenting their condition, and notifying supervisors of any concerns
- Maintaining a safe home environment with clear pathways
Requirements
To be successful as a Private Duty Companion, you'll need:
- A high school diploma or equivalent
- Six months of experience in a healthcare role, preferred
- CPR certification
- A valid Kansas driver's license, auto insurance, and reliable transportation
- A compassionate and helping nature, excellent communication skills, and the ability to lift up to 50 pounds
