Job Details:
- Pay Rate: $17 per hour, plus up to $200 annually in quarterly bonuses
- Job Locations: Various locations throughout Honesdale, Carbondale, Eynon, Dickson City, Elmhurst, Scranton, Taylor, Clarks Summit, and surrounding areas
- Setting: Group Homes
- Available Hours: Weekdays and weekends, 3pm-11pm, and 11pm-7am
The Minimum Responsibilities of a DSP include:
- Caring for the personal care and hygiene needs of patients in facilities such as nursing homes, group homes, and personal care homes
- Assisting with daily needs such as bathing, toileting, dressing, grooming, eating, and nutritional intake
- Supporting ambulation, transfers, and range of motion exercises
- Checking vitals, measuring intake/output, monitoring blood glucose, and documenting any changes
- Observing patient well-being and notifying supervisors of issues requiring adjustments to care, medication, or equipment
Requirements for the Direct Support Professional position include:
- A high school diploma or GED
- A valid driver's license and driving record
- CPR and First Aid certification
- Six months to one year of experience working with intellectually and physically disabled individuals (preferred)
- Familiarity with Office of Developmental Programs (ODP) guidelines (preferred)
- A compassionate nature, excellent communication skills, and ability to lift up to 50 pounds
