As a Billing Specialist, here’s the big picture view of what you’ll do:
- Perform daily billing and collection processes for assigned payers
- Manage billing and collections for assigned accounts
- Continuously developing knowledge of payer regulations and billing standards
- Communicate updates and regulatory changes to management
- Handle timely appeals, adjustments, refunds, and denial research
- Follow up with payers to ensure prompt and accurate payments
- Maintain detailed and organized patient account documentation
- Use EMR and online portals to monitor and resolve accounts
- Work closely with the management and clinical teams
Education & Experience Requirements:
- Minimum college degree or equivalent work experience
- Strong computer skills
- Fast and accurate data entry
- Effective organization and communication skills
- Ability to work in and contribute to a team environment with excellent inter-departmental communications
