What are the responsibilities and job description for the Caregiver / Direct Support Professional position at Interim HealthCare Personal Care and Support?
Caregiver/Home Health Aide (HHA)
As part of our interdisciplinary team, you will provide hands-on personal care, report changes in the client's condition, perform simple procedures as an extension of therapy or nursing services, and provide incidental/instrumental activities of daily living to clients in the home setting, as evaluated/delegated and permitted by Interim HealthCare policies and procedures, as well as federal, state, and local laws.
Big Picture View of Duties
- Provide seniors with the personal care and support they need to live safely at home.
- Assist with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, grooming, light housekeeping, meal preparation, shopping, transportation, and companionship.
- Help with ambulation, transferring, and range of motion exercises.
- Remind clients to take medication, document their condition, and notify a supervisor of any concerns.
- Evaluate and ensure a safe home environment with unobstructed pathways.
- Participate in activities that bring joy to clients, such as puzzles, games, reading, and hobbies.

Job Requirements
- You must have six months of prior adult caregiving experience or completion of a CNA course/certificate.
- You must provide two positive references.
