At Interim HealthCare Staffing, we're seeking a compassionate and skilled Registered Nurse to join our Community Staffing team. The ideal candidate will have experience in geriatric nursing and a passion for providing high-quality care to elderly individuals.
About the Role
The RN will play a crucial role in ensuring the well-being and health of our senior residents. This per diem position involves supporting assisted living/memory care communities throughout the Cambridge area. The hours are mostly day shift hours Monday-Friday, with occasional weekend or on-call needs.
Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive health assessments, medication management, and overall health status monitoring for residents in assisted living/memory care facilities.
- Supervise CNA's/PCA's on your shift to ensure quality care is provided.
- Provide health education to residents and their families on various topics, including disease management, preventative care, and healthy lifestyle choices.
- Coordinate and communicate with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive and holistic care for residents.
- Respond to medical emergencies promptly and efficiently, following established protocols and providing immediate care as needed.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records, documenting all assessments, interventions, and communications related to resident care.
- Foster open and transparent communication with residents, their families, and staff to promote a positive and collaborative care environment.
Requirements
- RN degree from an accredited school of nursing.
- Current and valid RN license in the state of Minnesota.
- Previous experience in geriatric nursing.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with residents, families, and colleagues.
- A compassionate and empathetic approach to working with senior residents.
- Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively within an interdisciplinary team.
- Willingness and flexibility to cover on-call needs over the phone.
