We are seeking a compassionate PRN ONCALL Hospice RN for weekend support, working from Friday at 5:30pm till Monday at 8:30am. In this role, you'll be the face of courage and strong arms of support for patients and their families, providing comfort and closure during a significant season of life.

We seek a two-weekends-a-month commitment from our Hospice Registered Nurses, who enjoy benefits including:

In this role, as a Hospice Registered Nurse, you will:
- Provide hospice patient care after-hours, weekdays, weekends, and as needs arise for our patients
- Enable patients to spend quality time with loved ones and participate in activities that bring them joy
- Work as part of an interdisciplinary team comprised of a physician, LPN, CNA, HHA, social worker, chaplain, and volunteers to carry out the patient's plan of care
- Perform patient assessments, check vitals, evaluate breathing, monitor pain, administer prescribed medication and treatments
- Ensure accessibility of medical equipment, prescribed oxygen, medication, and other supplies
- Educate family on the patient's prognosis, changes in care plan, medication, and hospice goals
- Take a holistic approach to care that engages the patient's mind, body, spirit, and family
A few must-haves for our Hospice ON CALL Registered Nurses include:
- Registered Nurse (RN) license
- CPR certification
- Valid car insurance
- Prior Hospice experience 3 years
- Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Proficiency in medical terminology and understanding of Hospice nursing care
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
- Triaging emergent needs and collaborating with physicians to provide comfort and quality care to each patient
- Communicating with medical professionals, the hospice team, and others
- Maintaining accurate, up-to-date records
- Providing services in accordance with agency policies and regulations defining scope of practice
