A Day in the Life
As a Medical Assistant, you will spend your day rooming patients, taking vital signs, and preparing exam rooms for procedures. You will also communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare professionals, ensuring seamless care coordination. In addition to these essential duties, you may be required to administer vaccinations and manage in-basket tasks, depending on the specific needs of the clinic/location.
Your Qualifications
To excel in this role, you will need a high school diploma or GED, completion of an accredited MA program, and at least 6 months of recent relevant work experience in direct patient care in a clinical setting. A background in phlebotomy/lab experience is a plus, but not required. You must also maintain current BLS certification for health professionals through the American Heart Association or Red Cross.
