Home Health Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant (COTA) Job Description
Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Home Health Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant (COTA) to join our team at Interim HealthCare. As a COTA, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional care to patients in the comfort of their own homes.
Responsibilities:
- Perform under the direction and supervision of the treating occupational therapist and in accordance with the plan of care.
- Assist the treating occupational therapist in documenting a patient's progress and response to treatment.
- Teach task-oriented therapeutic activities designed to restore physical and sensory-integrative function.
- Communicate with the supervising occupational therapist, as well as other members of the multidisciplinary healthcare team providing care to the patient in order to promote coordination of care.
- Visually and aurally observe and assess the patient.
- Participate in quality and performance improvement measures.
Requirements:
- Current licensure as a Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant (COTA) in the state of Colorado.
- Minimum of two years of certified occupational therapy assistant experience, ideally in home healthcare.
- CPR Certification (demonstration course required).
- Knowledge of state and federal home health regulations.
- Good clinical judgment, strong interpersonal skills, resourceful and compassionate.
