Certified Nursing Assistant/Home maker

As a Homemaker/DLA, here’s a big-picture view of what you’ll do:
- Perform and assist patients with incidental activities of daily living such as, routine light house cleaning/homemaking, preparation of meals, laundry, reinforcing adequate fluid and nutritional intake, supporting a clean and safe physical environment.
- Provide help with activities outside of the home, such as shopping.
- Provide companionship, including but not limited to, social interaction, conversation, emotional reassurance, encouragement of reading, writing, and activities that stimulate the mind and bring patients’ joy.
- Recognize, document, and report any observed environmental concerns or changes in patients’ status that may impact the safety and security of the patient to your supervisor.
- Utilize infection control measures such as standard precautions, hand washing, and personal protective equipment.
- Organize self to carry out visits/shifts and organizes tasks.
- Attend mandatory Interim HealthCare in-services and provide requested documents to keep employee file current.
- Respect and uphold resident rights and dignity
- Adhere to HIPAA/privacy regulations
A few must-haves for CNA:
- High school diploma (or equivalent)
- Pass background check and drug screen
- Valid Indiana driver’s license, auto insurance and reliable transportation
- Compassionate and helping nature, good communicator
- Valid CNA License
