Summary
The primary responsibility of the Area Manager is to manage flooring, and countertop trades on job sites during construction, tracking and managing materials, ensuring quality installations, and providing a high level of service to internal and external customers.
Essential Functions
Level I:
Oversee Field Manager and Installation of all trades and products and ensure schedules are followed
Oversee several communities and builders
Communicate with builder area managers and leadership
Level II:
Manage and supervise a team of field managers in a certain territory
Train and support new and existing field managers
HR managerial responsibilities to field managers
Level III:
All Functions included in Level II plus:
Maintain good and productive communication with the builders/customers daily
Resolve production and schedule issues with the builders
Skills & Qualifications
Level I:
2 years of construction and flooring experience preferred
Clean driving record and valid license
Entry level computer skills and knowledge of basic systems and applications and use of handheld devices and tablets.
Ability to speak effectively with customers or employees of organization.
Ability to utilize basic math skills to calculate figures and amounts such as percentages, area, circumference, linear feet, yardage, and square footage.
Ability to read and comprehend plans, builder communications, training materials, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
Exhibits sound and accurate judgment, supports, and explains reasoning for decisions, includes appropriate people in decision-making process, and makes timely decisions
Adaptable and flexible to changing business needs
Ability to resolve conflicts
All other job duties as assigned
Level II:
All Qualifications in Level I plus:
Must have experience leading a team or crew in a construction environment.
2 to 4 years of experience in multiple trades to include tile, wood, vinyl, carpet, and countertops.
Higher ability in solving production issues with the builders in the field
Higher ability to resolve homeowner occupied homes issues and problems
All other job duties as assigned
Level III:
All Qualifications in Level II plus:
4 years of experience in multiple trades to include tile, wood, vinyl, carpet, and countertops.
All other job duties as assigned
Work Environment and Physical Requirements
Work performed at construction jobsites and office.
Ability to stand, sit, walk, bend and stoop for 8 hours. Minor lifting and carrying may be required.
