What are the responsibilities and job description for the Prescription Specialist - Part Time Position, Monday/Tuesday position at InterMed?
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Accurately transcribe patient prescription requests received through voicemail, portal requests and fax into the electronic medical record for processing
- Complete prescription requests that fall within InterMed’s Prescription Refill Protocol
- Communicate effectively and efficiently with clinical care teams
- Collaborate with local pharmacies to clarify questions and/or concerns related to prescriptions
- Process prescription documents received by electronic fax in accordance with procedure guidelines
- Call patients to obtain additional information
- Other responsibilities, as assigned
JOB REQUIREMENTS
- Medication Experience and/or clinical experience strongly preferred
- Experience with EMR/eClinical Works preferred
- Understanding of HIPAA/Patient confidentiality
- Medical terminology strongly preferred
- Pharmacology strongly preferred
- Ability to type with great accuracy.

SCHEDULE
Part Time: Two - 10 hour days Monday and Tuesday
