Assistant Principal

Position Summary:  

The assistant principal will work collaboratively with the principal to achieve Wynne Intermediate’s vision, mission, and core values. The assistant principal will uphold and model ethical conduct and adhere to all professional standards and regulations. The assistant principal will collaborate closely with the principal, teachers, and staff to create a safe, inclusive, and academically enriching environment. The assistant principal will be responsible for various duties, helping to ensure the success of scholars and the school community.  

Essential Responsibilities:

• Promote a positive and respectful school culture by modeling expected behaviors and values
• Strong work ethic and dedication to scholar and teacher success
• Monitor progress and provide high-quality, helpful instructional coaching with frequent and scheduled teacher observations and evaluation effectiveness
• Model strong staff and student culture and manage school-wide social-emotional (SEL) development and behavior management system
• Assist the principal in the day-to-day management of the school (e.g. arrival/dismissal, lunch/recess, school trips, scheduling, attendance, supervision, drills, parent/staff communication, and coordination of activities/events)
• Required to have prompt, regular attendance in person and be available to work on-site and in person during regular or after-school hours as needed
• Perform other duties as assigned by the principal or district administrators
• Enforce school rules and disciplinary policies consistently and fairly
• Represent the school at meetings and events within and outside the community
• Act with integrity and accountability in all aspects of leadership
• Build positive relationships with school and teacher leaders to enhance instructional practices
• Have a growth mindset and a willingness to adapt and embrace change
• Proficient in using technology for data analysis, communication, and administration 
• Ability to clearly and effectively communicate (talk, listen, and ask questions) with the principal, scholars, staff, and parents in a professional and respectful manner
• Use research-based practices to make data-informed decisions regarding our school-wide systems 
• Collaborate with the principal on hiring, developing, and retaining diverse, highly effective teachers and school-based staff
• Provide instructional leadership by supporting teachers in curriculum development and instructional strategies

Salary : $64,794 - $83,928
