Certification Details BLS Job Details Radiation Therapist is responsible for administration of ionizing radiation for therapeutic purposes in accordance with the prescription by the Radiation Oncologist. Accountable for the simulation of patients in preparation of radiation therapy, basic patient care and education. Responsible for checking prescription, diagnosis, chart, and patient identification. Prepares room and equipment for the patient according to the prescription. Performs treatment simulation and all that it requires for procedure. Participates in quality and patient safety initiatives. Promotes the mission, vision, and values of the organization. Job Requirements Must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Requirements must be representative of the knowledge, skills, minimum education, training, licensure, experience, and / or ability required.
