JOB TITLE : MIDDLE SCHOOL HEAD FOOTBALL COACH
DEPARTMENT : ATHLETICS
CLASSIFICATION : EXTRA-CURRICULAR
SALARY : $4,010 for season
GENERAL DUTIES :
Support the School District athletic objective, policy of interscholastic athletics, and School District Athletic Code. The District believes that extra-curricular activities are an integral part of school life. All students, regardless of their ability, should take part if possible to be able to grow physically, intellectually, and socially through participation. Coaches organize and conduct the athletic programs to meet the needs of the school district and their participants.

EDUCATION / WORK EXPERIENCE :
High school diploma or its equivalentExperience in and / or knowledge of the sport, coaching techniques, and student supervisionMust have current CPR / First Aid certification or ability to obtainMust have current Concussion Management and other trainings required by the OSAA or ability to completeSuccessfully pass fingerprint and background checkSKILLS :

Cultivate and model a respectful working and learning environmentAnnually pass required online trainings by the District's assigned due-dateFollow site and / or District protocol for reporting absencesUtilize the District's electronic systems and applications related to the jobPerforms delegated duties assigned by the head coachBe knowledgeable of and implement the planned system and style of play as established by the head coachEnforce all athletic regulations and take initiative in making proposals for improvement in the program through the head coach to the athletic director and principalAttend meetings and professional developments organized and conducted by the high school head coach, athletic director, or principalDemonstrate proper active supervision during all scheduled activities for students / athletes including, but not limited to, game, practice, locker room and transportationMaintain a thorough knowledge of skill development, training techniques, fundamentals, game strategy, and the rules of the sportReport participant injuries following District proceduresBe responsible for the care, distribution, and collection of District equipment and suppliesCommunicate with athletes in a manner that models respect; Refrain from using profanity or derogatory language at participants, officials, parents or others associated with the programBe a positive role model for athletes and fans and to promote good sportsmanshipCultivate a program culture that demands respect between participantsMeet with players and parents prior to or at the beginning of the season to cover all participation expectationsCommit to continued professional development and improvement of the knowledge of skill development, training techniques, fundamentals, game strategy and the rules of the sportCollaborate with the head coach and athletic director to arrange for transportation and finances for contestsBe responsible for the care, distribution and collection of District equipment and suppliesReport participant injuries following District proceduresDevelop and maintain a positive rapport with students / athletes, parents, coaches throughout the program, staff and administrationEnsure that athletes have turned in all required paperwork before allowing them to participate in practicesPromote interest in and garner enthusiasm for the athletic program to students, parents, and the communityTeach fundamentals and skills of the sportEnforce all training rules and school regulations pertaining to athletesAssume responsibility for the facilities they use so as to maintain themMake recommendations to the head coach about the purchase of athletic equipment pertaining to their sportAssist in the development and maintenance of an accurate inventory of uniforms and equipment for their sportTake extreme care not to jeopardize the health and safety of athletesWork effectively under the leadership of the head coach, athletic director and school administratorTake part in the year-end athletic banquetEffectively communicate rules, procedures, and fundamentals of the sport to the playersMotivate athletes to prepare effectively and efficiently for athletic contestsUnderstand the strengths and weaknesses of the playersAttend all meetings as required by the athletic director, administration or league leadershipReport any behavior that endangers the physical, emotional or mental safety of anyone in the program to the Head Coach, Athletic Director and Principal within 24 hoursPerform other reasonable duties that from time to time may be assigned to meet the usual and unusual demands placed on the organizationSpecific responsibilities and essential functions related to assignment (_____ have) or (_____ have not) been attachedWORK PLACE EXPECTATIONS :
