The Cardiopulmonary Care Specialist plays a critical role in providing advanced care for patients with cardiopulmonary conditions. This position requires a high level of expertise, including performing diagnostic tests, administering medications, and mentoring staff.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform diagnostic testing procedures according to protocol, interpreting results and making recommendations for patient care.
- Administer medications in a timely and safe manner, evaluating effect and re-evaluating appropriately and according to protocol.
- Communicate effectively with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care.
- Develop and implement quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes and satisfaction.
- Provide education and training to staff on respiratory care techniques and modalities.
Qualifications:
- Graduate of a NBRC approved Respiratory Therapist program is required. Education must be obtained from an accredited institution. Degree will be verified.
- Registered by the National Board for Respiratory Care (RRT).
- Current license as Registered Respiratory Therapy in the state of practice is required.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) for healthcare providers is required.
