What are the responsibilities and job description for the Cardiovascular Ultrasound Specialist position at Intermountain Health?
Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Echocardiography Technologist to join our team at Intermountain Health. As a Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer, you will play a crucial role in performing various types of cardiac ultrasounds, including echocardiograms, stress echos, and TEEs.
In this position, you will work closely with physicians to identify abnormalities and diagnose patients. You will be responsible for preparing exam rooms, obtaining informed consent, and reviewing patient history to determine the proper selection of protocols.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform high-quality ultrasound procedures to evaluate internal organs and vessels for disease diagnosis.
- Assess patient status and needs, complete diagnostic techniques/tests, and perform necessary interventions.
- Review and evaluate completed tests for quality, completeness, and type ordered.
- Coordinate image preparation, documentation, and communication with physician partners.
- Document patient information thoroughly and accurately.
Requirements:
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- RDCS or RCS certification required; new graduates must obtain registry within 18 months.
- Healthcare Provider Life Support certification required.
- Associate's degree preferred; one year of ultrasound experience also preferred.
