The Continuous Improvement team plays a pivotal role in Intermountain Health’s mission by implementing and sustaining the Intermountain Operating Model. The Continuous Improvement Associate is an entry level position and will collaborate with teams to visualize performance, improve processes, solve problems, and share best practices. This role manages many tasks in a complex environment including coaching leaders, training caregivers, and facilitating projects to deliver results. The Continuous Improvement Associate will collaborate with, and support, improvement efforts led by Senior Consultants.
Position Details :
This role will work Monday-Friday, during regular business hours. The office is located at Utah Valley Hospital. Incumbent of this role will be traveling to American Fork Hospital 1-3 times weekly, Sanpete Hospital, Delta Hospital and Fillmore Hospital about once per month.
Essential Functions
Plays a key role in supporting process improvement and problem-solving projects
Collaborates with leaders to implement improvement initiatives
Partners with leaders to implement and maintain visual management tools
Delivers training curriculum in various settings that enables all caregivers to continuously improve their work, problem solve, and improve processes
Observes and documents processes and identifies areas for improvement
Closely supports Continuous Improvement Consultants and Senior Consultants
Supports the implementation of the Intermountain Operating Model
Skills
Basic process mapping
Familiarity with root cause analysis

Familiarity with Lean Six Sigma principles

Qualifications
Experience managing multiple projects
Strong verbal and written communication skills for presenting findings and recommendations
Familiarity with Lean Six Sigma principles, A3s, and data visualizations
Experience manipulating and analyzing data in Excel
Experience collaborating with a wide variety of professionals
Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks with minimal supervision
Ability to travel regularly to multiple sites in system
Preferred Qualifications
Lean Six Sigma training
Experience working in a complex healthcare environment
Bachelor's degree from an accredited university
Experience in role managing projects with sustained performance improvement
Physical Requirements
Ongoing need for employee to see and read information, labels, documents, monitors, identify equipment and supplies, and be able to assess customer needs.
Frequent interactions with providers, colleagues, customers, patients / clients and visitors that require employee to verbally communicate as well as hear and understand spoken information, needs, and issues quickly and accurately.
