Job Description:
This position is responsible for ensuring that customers of imaging services are greeted and assisted promptly and providing support services for various imaging modalities. The incumbent will perform a variety of clerical duties, including helping manage patient flow through the department, answering telephones, entering exam orders, checking out images, calling reports, assisting radiologists/ technologists, and ensuring medical necessity.Job Details

Job Essentials
- Schedules patients for examinations and gives instructions regarding exam preparation.
- Coordinates emergency and add-on examinations with technical staff and radiologists.
- Prioritizes patient examinations and coordinates multiple examinations with other areas.
- Provides information concerning examination content, pre-examination instructions, and timetables.
- Acts as a liaison between physician offices and department concerning needed preps, medical necessity, information, and problems.
- Answers calls that come into the department and route them to appropriate personnel.
Minimum Qualifications
- One year of office or customer service experience.
- Demonstrated experience using word processing and spreadsheets.
- Experience working as part of a team including verbal and written communication.
- Experience in problem solving and conflict resolution.
Preferred Qualifications
- Medical terminology.
- Coding experience.

- Ongoing need for employee to see and read information, labels, assess patient needs, operate monitors, identify equipment and supplies.
- Frequent interactions with patient care providers, patients, and visitors that require employee to verbally communicate as well as hear and understand spoken information, alarms, needs, and issues quickly and accurately, particularly during emergency situations.
- Manual dexterity of hands and fingers to manipulate complex and delicate equipment with precision and accuracy. This includes frequent computer use and typing for documenting patient care, accessing needed information, medication preparation, etc.
- Expected to lift and utilize full range of movement to transfer patients. Will also bend to retrieve, lift, and carry supplies and equipment. Typically includes items of varying weights, up to and including heavy items.
- Need to walk and assist with transporting/ambulating patients and obtaining and distributing supplies and equipment. This includes pushing/pulling gurneys and portable equipment, including heavy items. Often required to navigate crowded and busy rooms (full of equipment, power cords on the floor, etc.)
- May be expected to stand in a stationary position for an extended period of time.
