Job Summary
The CV Invasive Specialist performs a variety of technical procedures requiring independent judgment. This role involves responsibility and initiative for designated areas and procedures.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Provides technical support during invasive cardiovascular procedures.
- Assists physicians in radiological imaging of cardiac and vascular procedures, maintaining sterile conditions.
- Operates imaging equipment and monitors procedure images and events.
- Educates patients and families about procedures and expectations.
- Maintains order and cleanliness of the unit and stock levels for complex interventions.
- Completes daily, progress, and discharge documentation according to departmental standards.
- Participates in quality and patient safety initiatives.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Registered ARRT or Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Technologist RCIS within 18 months of hire, or Registered Respiratory Therapist with CV Specific certification.
- Current Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers (BLS-HCP) and ACLS certifications.
- Surgical Technologist License with DORA obtained within 3 months of hire in state of Colorado.
Preferred Qualifications
- Associates degree.
- Two (2) years of experience in Cardiology/Cath Lab.
Physical Requirements
Ongoing need for employee to see and read information, labels, assess patient needs, operate monitors, identify equipment and supplies.
Frequent interactions with patient care providers, patients, and visitors that require employee to verbally communicate as well as hear and understand spoken information.
Manual dexterity of hands and fingers to manipulate complex and delicate equipment with precision and accuracy.
