Job Description:
The Mammography Technologist at Intermountain Health performs radiographic mammography procedures to produce high-quality diagnostic films for the detection of breast tissue abnormalities.
This position works independently and requires a high level of judgment, creativity, and initiative.
Responsibilities Include:
- Patient Care: Ensure proper patient identification, order verification, and prepare patients for exams.
- Mammography Services: Perform radiologic mammography exams per department protocol, including advanced procedures like stereotactic biopsies, clip placements, drainages, etc.
- Image Quality: Operate mammographic equipment to produce diagnostic images of high quality.
- Quality Assurance: Maintain records required by JCAHO and the Utah State Bureau of Radiation Control.
- Continuing Education: Stay current on new procedures and equipment to maintain high skill levels.
Requirements:
- Certifications: ARRT registration, Current Rad Tech license in the state of practice, ACR & FDA/MQSA requirements, ARRT Advanced Mammography Certification.
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
- Experience: Experience in imaging or mammography preferred.
