Job Summary: The Mammography Technologist performs radiographic mammography procedures to produce high-quality diagnostic films for detecting breast tissue abnormalities. This position involves performing various procedures requiring independent judgment, creativity, and initiative.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensures proper patient identification, order verification, and prepares patients for exams.
- Performs radiologic mammography exams according to department protocol, including advanced procedures like stereotactic biopsies, clip placements, drainages, etc.
- Demonstrates positioning competency and knowledge about breast self-examinations.
- Operates mammographic equipment to ensure high-quality diagnostic images are produced.
- Uses radiation protection to ensure patient and staff safety and meets ALARA program requirements.
- Stays current on new procedures and equipment to maintain high-level skills.
- Maintains records required by JCAHO and the Utah State Bureau of Radiation Control.
- Completes all required documentation accurately, including timestamps and image storage.
Requirements
- ARRT registration.
- Current Rad Tech license in the state of practice.
- Meets and maintains mammography-specific ACR & FDA/MQSA requirements.
- Meets and maintains ARRT Advanced Mammography Certification.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) for healthcare providers.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with CT and X-Ray.
- Experience in Imaging or Mammography.
Physical Requirements: Lifting, Manual Dexterity, Pulling/Pushing, Seeing, Speaking, Standing, Walking.
Work Location: Intermountain Health Park City Hospital, Park City, Utah, Scheduled Weekly Hours: 20 hours.
The hourly range for this position is $34.06 - $52.55 per hour, dependent on experience.
