Job Description:
The Flight Nurse is responsible for providing critical care to patients in diverse and non-traditional settings. This includes assessing patient physical, social, and psychological status, developing and implementing individualized plans of care, and providing or delegating care consistent with plan of care and professional licensure provisions.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform assessments of patients' physical, social, and psychological status, including cognitive, communicative, and developmental skills as appropriate.
Use assessment information and independent critical thinking skills to develop and implement individualized plans of care, actively involving patients, families, teams, and physicians as appropriate.
Demonstrate the ability to set priorities and coordinate and organize patient care delivery through effectively managing time, supplies, and resources.
Select and administer medications and calculate correct dosages based on physical findings.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing from an accredited institution
- Current RN License in state of practice
- Advanced certification (CCRN, CFRN, CNPT, CEN, or CTRN)
- Three years of Critical Care/Emergency Department or Labor and Delivery experience
