About the Role: As an Occupational Therapist at Intermountain Health, you will play a vital part in providing high-quality care to our patients. You will be responsible for evaluating patients upon initial encounter to determine the need for occupational therapy intervention and making referrals to other treatment team members as deemed appropriate.
Key Responsibilities:
- Evaluating patients upon initial encounter to determine the need for occupational therapy intervention and making referrals to other treatment team members as deemed appropriate.
- Planning occupational therapy treatment programs for each patient, based upon interpretation of evaluation results; interpreting evaluation findings for patients, families, and treatment team members.
- Developing realistic goals with patient input; explaining treatment plans and goals to patients.
- Implementing treatment or supervising treatment provided by Certified Occupational Therapy Assistants or occupational therapy students.
- Delegating routine care to supportive personnel as appropriate.
- Terminating occupational therapy services when patients have attained maximum benefit from occupational therapy; providing in-service education to members of the treatment team to ensure follow-through of treatment programs.
- Evaluating, recording, and reporting on patients' progress for review by other members of the rehabilitative team.
- Communicating effectively with physicians, other members of the rehabilitation team, and others as indicated regarding treatment plans and patient responses to plans.
