Job Description
- Job Summary: Perform a variety of CT procedures using ionizing radiation for diagnostic purposes.
- Main Responsibilities:
- Prepare patients for exams, ensuring proper identification and order verification.
- Perform exams per department protocol.
- Understand cross-sectional anatomy and demonstrate anatomical positioning competency.
- Familiar with ALARA program and follow proper radiation safety protocol.
- Demonstrate ability to critique own films.
- Complete studies within acceptable time limitations per department expectations without compromising patient care or quality of examination.
- Administer oral barium products or intravenous contrast material to patients under radiologist or physician supervision.
- Practice infection control and sterile techniques.
- Provide patient education and ensure patient comfort.
- Operate CT equipment and related information systems to produce quality images.
- Exhibit working knowledge of contrast injectors and laser printers.
- Exhibit understanding and proficiency with electronic imaging.
