Job Summary:
This position involves providing direct patient services, including evaluating patients upon initial encounter to determine the need for occupational therapy intervention and making referrals to other treatment team members as deemed appropriate.
About the Role:
You will be responsible for planning occupational therapy treatment programs for each patient, based on interpretation of evaluation results; interpreting evaluation findings for patients, families, and treatment team members.
Key Responsibilities:
- Evaluating patients upon initial encounter to determine the need for occupational therapy intervention and making referrals to other treatment team members as deemed appropriate.
- Developing realistic goals with patient input; explaining treatment plans and goals to patients.
- Implementing treatment or supervising treatment provided by Certified Occupational Therapy Assistants or occupational therapy students.
- Terminating occupational therapy services when patients have attained maximum benefit from occupational therapy; providing in-service education to members of the treatment team to ensure follow-through of treatment programs.
