About the Role
This is a temporary position. To be successful, caregivers must obtain certification within one year of either graduation or completion of clinical training, unless they are actively preparing for the registry exam according to ARDMS, ARRT, or CCI standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop specific knowledge for echo and/or vascular sonography
- Prioritize and schedule exams, coordinating with medical staff, physician offices, other caregivers, and patients
- Prepare patients for exams, educating them on the procedure and transporting them as needed
- Perform ultrasound exams consistently with related protocols and in a timely manner
- Achieve quality outcomes by appropriately using equipment, ensuring patient safety and comfort
- Return patients to their rooms and ensure their stability and safety after exams
- Identify patient needs and communicate effectively with physicians, other caregivers, patients, and families
- Demonstrate accurate documentation of exam results and other necessary information
- Clean and maintain equipment and work areas, restocking supplies as needed
Qualifications
- Eligibility to take the ARDMS, ARRT, or CCI boards in cardiac or vascular sonography within one year of hire date
- Basic Life Support Certification (BLS) for healthcare providers
- Participation or graduation from an accredited or certificate program

Physical Requirements
Ongoing need to see and read information, assess patient needs, operate monitors, identify equipment and supplies.
Frequent interactions with patient care providers, patients, and visitors requiring verbal communication, hearing, and understanding spoken information, alarms, needs, and issues quickly and accurately, particularly during emergency situations.
Manual dexterity to manipulate complex and delicate equipment with precision and accuracy.
Expected to lift and transfer patients, bend to retrieve and carry supplies and equipment, including heavy items.
Need to walk and assist with transporting/ambulating patients, obtaining and distributing supplies and equipment, including pushing/pulling gurneys and portable equipment.
