Job Description:
The Strategic Planning Partner supports Strategic Planning and Research in assessing the external marketplace and assists senior leadership with strategy development within their assigned market, system, divisions, and/or clinical programs.This position partners with other strategic planners to complete special projects assigned and supports the culture of One Intermountain and performs all work with a system and patient oriented perspective. The Strategic Planning and Research Department is responsible for system-wide strategic planning activities. This position reports directly to the Vice President of Strategy.
Job duties include but not limited to:
- Participates in market assessment function with the other strategic planners (e.g., monitoring national and local market trends, assessing the implications of the trends, identifying opportunities and threats). Works with the Vice President of Strategy and other Strategic Planning Partners to prepare recommendations for Executive Leadership Team.
- Provides staff support to one or more markets and/or service lines. Serves as a member of the leadership team for the market and/or service line. Provides strategic planning expertise to the market or service line on clinical service deployment, physician recruitment planning, and clinical program strategic and business planning. Ensures alignment with corporate strategy.
- Serves on the leadership team of one or more senior Intermountain business leaders as assigned by the Vice President of Strategic Planning (e.g., ACOO of Specialty Care Group, ACOO of Ambulatory Care Group, ACOO of Clinical Programs and Clinical Services, VP of Outreach). Advises the leadership team on team competitive strategy and ensures strategy alignment with corporate strategy.
Minimum Qualifications
- Master's Degree in Hospital Administration, Business Administration, or Finance. Education must be obtained through an accredited institution. Degree will be verified.
- Demonstratable relevant work experience (e.g., consulting, developing emerging models, thinking beyond traditional planning) in C-suite level strategy development.
- Demonstratable healthcare experience
- Knowledge of hospital services, medical staff composition, and the demographics of various communities.
- Experience facilitating and leading groups through a planning process.
- Experience demonstrating knowledge of current health care trends, health care delivery models, physician issues, and outside forces impacting health care delivery.
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge and experience in ambulatory and hospital based healthcare delivery.
