Job Summary:
The housekeeping Inspector is responsible for working closely with the Housekeeping Managers and Supervisor to oversee all housekeeping functions. Inspectors are to assist in directing housekeepers, public area attendants, and bell staff to items or areas of the hotel that need attention, ensuring adherence to Company Standards and High-Quality Guest Service.

Responsibilities
Responsibilities:
- Fully understand and support Xanterra's Mission Statement and Core Values.
- Assist with training, and evaluating the progress of Guest Room Attendants, Common Area, and Bell Staff.
- Work with the Housekeeping Manager to coordinate cleaning and preparation of guest rooms prior to guest arrival, and after departure. Conducts and/or coordinates final inspections prior to guest arrival per established procedures.
- Inspect daily, assigned guest rooms, linen rooms, hallways, and ground to ensure cleanliness and safety to meet or exceed departmental and company standards.
- Assign re-work to Guest Room Attendants if items or areas are found to be out of compliance with departmental and company Standards.
- Perform inventory checks on room amenities, linen, supplies, and chemicals.
- Report room condition/ issues to Housekeeping Management, Front Desk, and Maintenance as needed.
- Must be able to perform the duties of a Guest Room Attendant, Public Area Attendant, and Bell Attendant to company standards as needed
- Control assigned keys, master and guest room keys, and maintain security of all guest rooms, both occupied and unoccupied.
- Communicate effectively with all areas of the hotel and support departments.
- Communicate professionally and effectively with Front Desk staff, Bell staff, Maintenance, other Housekeeping employees, and vendors.
- Must log in Lost & Found items, call Lost & Found guests, as well as process Lost & Found cases according to Company policy and procedure.
- Responsible for working varied shifts to include days, evenings, weekends, and holidays as scheduled
- Reporting and follow-up of preventative maintenance and current maintenance issues within the lodging unit.
- Maintain compliance with PCI (Payment Card Industry) and Lost and Found Credit Card Policies, ensuring employees are trained and the policies are practiced at all times concerning guest and Company property alike.
- Adheres to all safety, risk management, and environmental policies while performing their tasks and ensures staff compliance.
- Report and document emergencies per established procedures in the absence of MOD.
- Perform opening duties for the Rooms Department/Housekeeping as assigned.
- Completes assigned tasks without close supervision.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
- One year as a Guest Room Attendant, Public Area Attendant, or Bell Attendant in a high-volume hotel.
- One year of customer service experience.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite or Comparable Software.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Knowledge of rooms and hotel layout on GCR property, including general knowledge of Xanterra Grand Canyon Railway guest services with the ability to convey information to the guests.
- Bi-lingual English/Spanish skills.
Physical Requirements include:
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is constantly standing, walking, balancing, climbing, twisting, eye/hand coordination, manual dexterity, handling, wrist motion, and bending/ stooping.
- Trunk Strength-The ability to use your abdominal and lower back muscles to support part of the body repeatedly or continuously over time without giving out or fatiguing.
- Static Strength-The ability to exert maximum muscle force to lift, push, pull or carry objects.
- Constant carrying, bending, stooping, lifting, pushing, and pulling items weighing up to 75 lbs.
- Constantly pushing loaded carts weighing up to 500 lbs.
- Constantly listening, hearing, and seeing.
- Will be required to stand and walk for long periods of time and to occasionally walk on uneven surfaces.
