Job Summary:

The Housekeeper is responsible for cleaning guest accommodation according to established Company standards.

The Details:Position Type: Part - Time 

Pay: Piece Rate: Assigned a minimum of 16 rooms a shift starting at $9.10 per room!

Responsibilities

• Fully understand and support Xanterra's Mission Statement, Core Values, and Cultural pillar.                
• Cleans assigned guest accommodations to Company standards (within allocated time 30 minutes for standards and deluxe rooms and 45 minutes per suite) including making beds, cleaning bathrooms, dusting, amenities, removing dirty linens, cleaning outside guest rooms, in hallways, and surrounding grounds.
• Maintains the ability to clean at least 16 rooms in an 8-hour shift.
• Controls all keys, master and guest room keys, and maintains the security of guest rooms, both vacant and occupied.
• Follows standards in cleaning stay-over rooms in dealing with guests’ property.
• Follows instructions given by the Inspector, Supervisor, or Management regarding having to return to the room to correct any discrepancies.
• Follows all lost and found procedures.  Immediately report lost and found items to the Inspector, Supervisor, or Management.
• Reports any maintenance-related problems to the Inspector, Supervisor, or Management immediately.
• Stocks cart neatly and safely, according to standards as instructed.
• Follows instructions on the use of all chemicals and cleaning agents.
• Practices Risk Management procedures, including morning stretches, to ensure a safe working environment.  Report any safety problems immediately to your supervisors.
• Wears the required personal protective equipment while performing tasks.
• Performs tasks Effectively without close supervision.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualification:

• Must be at least 16 years of age.
• Minimum of 6 months of Housekeeping or Custodial Work experience.
• Knowledge of rooms and hotel layout on GCR property, including general knowledge of Xanterra Grand Canyon Railway services with the ability to convey information to the guests is a plus

Physical Requirements:

• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is constantly listening, hearing, seeing, standing, walking, balancing, climbing, twisting, eye/hand coordination, manual dexterity, handling, wrist motion, bending/ stooping and carrying, lifting, pushing, and pulling items weighing up to 75lbs and constantly pushing loaded cart weighing up to 300lbs
• Trunk Strength-The ability to use your abdominal and lower back muscles to support part of the body repeatedly or continuously over time without giving out or fatiguing.
• Static Strength-The ability to exert maximum muscle force to lift, push, pull or carry objects.
• Will be required to stand and walk for long periods of time and to occasionally walk on uneven surfaces.
